Why biometrics?
We would like to know who is who. Especially if we don’t want to let everyone in. And because we don’t all have a watchdog or sit by the locked door, we use the technology to help us. Biometric techniques have advanced to such an extent that they are safe, easy, and affordable to use.
What is biometrics?
Biometrics in general is the technique of recognizing properties, which compare with recorded characteristics and react on the basis thereof. A response may be that you are denied access, or not. There are several methods of identifying individuals using technical applications. Biometrics provides certainty and will automatically recognize people based on different characteristics.
Why choose fingerprint technology?
Convenience, reliability, and security. Fingerprint technology represents the largest and most widely used segment in today’s biometric development. After James Bond, the FBI, and the CIA, this knowledge is now also available to the consumer market. Recently, this technique has become affordable, user-friendly and more reliable than ever before. Simplicity to use. Its practical application, at home and in the business, and its benefits continue to increase.

Does it increase my convenience?
Yes, once registered your fingerprint gives access, no more searching for keys, etc. No more fear of how to get in. No more fear of who has found the keys.
Does it increase my security?
Keys, codes, cards, and tokens, can be lost or duplicated, a fingerprint cannot. A fingerprint is unique as a snowflake, no two are identical.
Does it increase my security?
Security is a relative term for each individual, but not being able to lose your chance of accessing certain spaces gives you security. Preventing fraud increases your security and safety.
Where is my fingerprint?
Where are my data? In the lock system and nowhere else, which means that standalone application of the stored characteristics can be only used by yourself. They cannot be reproduced. Saving and/or deleting those characteristics is a matter of seconds and can only be done by authorized persons (you as a lock owner). When using Access Control systems that register time and access (in/out), with a link to a PC, your characteristics are known to the administrator of the system.
How does a fingerprint lock work?
By pressing the fingertip. The scanner reads your attributes and compares them with what was previously captured by a simple operation. If the attributes match, the system releases control of the door lock. You can go in. Every time the door is closed again, the operation of the lock is blocked. Repeat the previous procedure. So your finger is really your key to your world. ATTENTION: operation is always possible from the inside of the door. So you can always go outside freely. Battery supply good for approx. 4000x opening, support for 9V battery as emergency power supply accessible from the outside.

What to do in the event of a complaint?
We recommend that you first notify us of any complaints by emailing info@artguardsecurity.eu. If this does not lead to a solution, it is possible to register your dispute for mediation via Stichting WebwinkelKeur. From 15 February 2016, it is also possible for consumers in the EU to register complaints via the ODR platform of the European Commission. This ODR platform can be found at https://ec.europa.eu/odr. If your complaint is not yet being handled elsewhere, you are free to file your complaint via the European Union platform. Article 14 – Complaints procedure The entrepreneur has a sufficiently publicized complaints procedure and handles the complaint in accordance with this complaints procedure. Complaints about the implementation of the agreement must be submitted fully and clearly described to the entrepreneur within 7 days, after the consumer has discovered the defects. Complaints submitted to the entrepreneur will be answered within a period of 14 days from the date of receipt. If a complaint requires a foreseeable longer processing time, the entrepreneur will answer within the period of 14 days with a notification of receipt and an indication when the consumer can expect a more detailed answer. If the complaint cannot be resolved by mutual agreement, a dispute arises that is subject to the dispute settlement procedure. In the event of complaints, a consumer must first turn to the entrepreneur. In the event of complaints that cannot be resolved in mutual consultation, the consumer should contact Stichting WebwinkelKeur, which will mediate free of charge. If a solution is not yet reached, the consumer has the option of having his complaint handled by Stichting GeschilOnline, the decision of which is binding and both entrepreneur and consumer agree to this binding decision. There are costs associated with submitting a dispute to this disputes committee, which must be paid by the consumer to the relevant committee. It is also possible to register complaints via the European ODR platform. A complaint does not suspend the entrepreneur’s obligations, unless the entrepreneur indicates otherwise in writing. If a complaint is found to be well-founded by the entrepreneur, the entrepreneur will, at its discretion, replace or repair the delivered products free of charge.
